Georgina Laybutt (she/her)
Therapy Assistant
3rd year Psychology student
I am a third year Psychology student at the Australian National University and absolutely love my degree. When I’m not buried in uni work I love to hang out with friends, go to the gym, read, cook, and watch Youtube. I also work as a high school maths and English tutor and love helping the students progress and become more confident in their abilities.

The decision to join Spark for Life was driven by a desire to support young children in their social and behavioural development. The environment at Spark is so warm, accepting and safe, allowing the children to truly learn and flourish, which is incredibly rewarding and heart-warming to witness as a therapy assistant.

More About Georgina:

I grew up in Sydney with my parents and younger brother, spending most of my time dancing, going to the beach, walking my dog Charlie, and going camping. I struggled a lot with bullying and social anxiety throughout primary school, which I believe has made me so appreciative of the incredible friends I have now and also so passionate about supporting young people navigate challenging social experiences.

In later high school and early uni, I also struggled with disordered eating, body image and self-esteem. I saw and still see a psychologist to help me manage these challenges and learn more about myself, and it has truly been the greatest investment. After experiencing the value of a psychologist myself, I believe everyone can benefit from their support and knowledge, and it confirmed my desire to pursue a career in the mental health and therapeutic space.
